Ampersand Announces Latest Life Sciences Investment

Ampersand Capital Partners, a middle market private equity firm targeting the life sciences and healthcare industries, announced Tuesday (March 1) that it has made a minority investment in Germany-based BioEcho Life Sciences. The company manufactures nucleic acid purification solutions for life sciences research. Ampersand, which has offices in Boston as well as Amsterdam, said in a press release its investment in BioEcho will fuel cross-border growth, support the launch of new kits, and expand its sales team.

Crestview Acquires Automation Design Business Classic Design

Crestview Partners announced its latest acquisition on Tuesday. The private equity firm said it has completed the acquisition of Classic Design, a Michigan company that provides automation design and systems integration solutions. Crestview’s recently launched portfolio company completed the takeover, its second since its initial launch as part of Crestview’s global automation solutions investment strategy.

In a statement, the portfolio company’s chief executive officer John Bubnikovich said the investment in Classic “is a next step in the creation of this platform.

“The transaction more than doubles the platform’s scale and substantially expands our capacity for growth,” he continued.

O2 Invests in Construction and Restoration Business

Private equity firm O2 Investment Partners recently invested in roof replacement and building restoration company Capital Construction, LLC, as well as Capital’s investment in Irish Roofing & Exteriors, LLC. According to a press release, O2 secured financing from LBC Credit Partners, which focuses exclusively on the middle market. O2 similarly specializes on the middle market with a focus on majority investments in B2B services and technology businesses.
