More Women Should Take Lead in Finance Industry, Illinois Lawmaker Says
U.S. Representative Mike Quigley, a Democrat from Illinois’ 5th congressional district, joined ACG and leading women in Chicago finance to call for a greater role for women in finance.
U.S. Representative Mike Quigley, a Democrat from Illinois’ 5th congressional district, on Oct. 4 joined ACG and leading women in Chicago finance to call for a greater role for women in the financial sector.
“Women now make up over 50 percent of workforce, but are clearly missing from the leadership tables of major financial institutions across the country, especially when you look at venture capital and private equity firms,” Quigley said at the meeting, held at the offices of ACG Global in downtown Chicago.
Quigley met with ACG representatives and women financiers from firms including Sterling Partners, Huron Capital Partners, Twin Bridge Capital, The Private Bank, Versa Capital Management, Prime Finance Group and Shorehill Capital. They discussed issues including underrepresentation of women in top jobs and best practices to resolve the shortcoming.
