ACG Summer Events Preview
Network outside of a conference center this season with golf tournaments, sporting events and more
Although many of the large ACG conferences and Capital Connection events take place in the fall and spring, ACG chapters have plenty of networking opportunities on the schedule for the summer months.
Many of these events offer the chance to meet fellow M&A and corporate growth professionals on the golf course, in a stadium suite and at other venues beyond the four walls of a convention center.
ACG wants you to work smarter, not harder this summer. Consider expanding your network in the coming months at these ACG events, while having fun too.
Seeing Green
Golf outings are a staple of ACG, offering a way to deepen connections while honing your swing. Wherever you are, there’s likely an ACG golf event nearby.
The DealMaker Invitational at Half Moon Bay in San Francisco on July 28-30 is among them. This exclusive outing caters solely to senior-level investment bankers and private equity investors in the middle market.
West Coasters looking for an earlier tournament can play with ACG Portland on July 24 or venture over to Colorado for ACG Denver’s July 23 golf event. Consider also playing with ACG Philadelphia on July 8 or ACG Chicago on July 26. (Other similar events can be found by using the “golf tournament filter” on the ACG event calendar.)
Many chapters across ACG have also begun introducing golf events specifically for women. ACG Cleveland was on the forefront of this trend. Its summer golf outings have already sold out.
“Men tend to still golf only with men,” Margaret Jordan, a past president of Cleveland’s Women in Transactions group, told Middle Market Growth last year. “As we know, a lot of the discussions and opportunities for investing, for information about things that are being bought or sold, happen on the golf course and in those social circles.”
ACG Boston is among the other chapters with women-focused golf events. Its Women of Leadership Golf Outing will be held on Aug. 7.
Take Me Out to the Ball Game
Rather watch a sport than play it? ACG chapters have you covered.
Join ACG Maryland at Camden Yards on July 29 for an Orioles baseball game or hit up a Pirates game with ACG Pittsburgh on Aug. 22.
If soccer is more your speed, ACG Cincinnati’s summer social will bring attendees inches from the pitch to watch FC Cincinnati play on July 17.
Cheers to M&A
Warm temps call for outdoor networking, and there will be plenty of that at ACG chapters’ summer socials and dealmaking functions.
ACG New York will host attendees on July 23-25 at the Montauk Yacht Club for its Summer Dealmaking Conference, where attendees will have ample opportunities to mingle and meet one-on-one. Catamaran rides, beach parties and clam bakes lend the event a seasonal feel.

If you’re on the opposite coast, check out ACG San Diego’s Surfside Summer Social on July 24, hosted at La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club. The event promises festive libations, a dinner buffet, a dazzling ocean sunset and sparkling conversation. According to the event website: “We forecast low tide but stronger deal flow.”
Dealmaking Conferences
The ACG summer calendar also features dealmaking conferences packed with networking opportunities and thought leadership content.
ACG Toronto will present its 6th Annual Summer DealSource North on July 10-11, featuring pre-scheduled meetings for investment banks and M&A advisory firms to meet with private equity, capital providers, corporate development and family office firms from Canada and the U.S.
On Aug. 1, ACG Seattle’s Northwest Middle Market Growth Conference will feature networking opportunities alongside content sessions, including a keynote address from BMO Capital Markets Chief Investment Strategist Brian Belski.
And as summer transitions to fall, conference season picks back up, starting with the Great Lakes Capital Connection on Sept. 4-5 in Cleveland, followed by ACG Los Angeles’ M&A SoCal event on Sept. 16-18. Mark your calendars—we look forward to seeing you there!
