Chris Jackson of Deloitte on Technology Trends in the Middle Market
The Deloitte Private technology leader discusses his firm's 2018 Mid-Market Technology Trends Report, including the role of talent and the future of work.
Deloitte Private Technology Leader Chris Jackson spoke with MMG Editor Kathryn Mulligan about his firm’s recent 2018 Mid-Market Technology Trends Report, which examined the intersection of talent and technology at middle-market companies.
The survey, based on responses from 500 midmarket executives and managers, shows that adoption of artificial intelligence, cognitive learning, robotics and other technologies is leading to increased hiring, not less. Businesses are using technology to augment the skills of human workers rather than replace them.
Jackson, who is also a managing director at Deloitte Consulting, discussed the areas where technology is making the greatest impact within organizations, its effect on roles within the C-suite, and how companies are leveraging the gig economy. He also shared the survey’s findings as they relate to tax reform and its impact on midsize companies’ technology investment.
“Talent is really the key to unlocking the broader potential of these emerging technologies, and it’s driving business value greater than it’s ever been in the past.”
