Private equity firms, law firms and investment banks announced new hires and promotions this month

Proskauer: Sarah Stasny

Law firm Proskauer kicked July off with its latest firm addition, Sarah Stasny, a private equity M&A lawyer who joined as Head of Private Equity Transactions – US. She brings more than two decades of experience with PE sponsors and portfolio companies to support acquisitions and investments, divestitures, joint ventures and other transactions. Stasny joins Proskauer’s New York office.

Citizens Capital Markets & Advisory: Daniel Berenson and Frankie Beardslee

Citizens Capital Markets & Advisory has announced the hirings of Daniel Berenson and Frankie Beardslee, who are joining the firm’s life sciences investment banking team. Berenson joins as a managing director, and Beardslee joins as a director. The two bring more than 30 years of combined experience in investment banking, and will support the bank’s relationships with companies and investors across the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, according to an announcement provided to Middle Market Growth.

Thomas Dudley
ButcherJoseph & Co.: Thomas Dudley

Thomas Dudley has been named the newest Director in ButcherJoseph & Co.’s ESOP Advisory practice, according to a press release from the investment banking firm this month. ButcherJoseph specializes in ESOPs and strategic corporate finance solutions. In his new role, Dudley will provide strategic advisory services to employee-owned businesses in areas that include ownership structure optimization, recapitalization and more. Dudley most recently was the founding CEO of Certified Employee-Owned, a certification program for employee-owned companies.

Rainier Partners: Henry Anderson, Luke Bench and Dave Shephard

Private equity firm Rainier Partners, which focuses on the lower middle-market services sector, announced three promotions within the firm. Henry Anderson and Luke Bench have both been promoted to principal, while Dave Shephard has been promoted to executive director, an announcement provided to Middle Market Growth said. Anderson and Bench have both been with the firm since 2020, while Shephard joined in 2022.

Oppenheimer & Co.: Jon Hudson

Investment bank and wealth manager Oppenheimer & Co. announced the appointment of Jon Hudson as its managing director and co-head of its Healthcare Services Investment Banking team, according to a press release this month. In the role Hudson, based out of the firm’s Miami and Atlanta offices, will focus on the provider and physician services sectors, as well as payors, with M&A advisory and capital markets services. He brings more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry to Oppenheimer.

BCLP: Sarah Kaehler

International law firm BCLP has announced the hiring of Sarah Kaehler, who joins the firm’s Corporate Transactions Practice as a partner in New York. Her role is part of the firm’s broader Corporate & Finance Transactions Department. Kaehler’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and GP-led continuation fund transactions, an announcement sent to Middle Market Growth noted. She advises PE sponsors, portfolio companies and private businesses on complex transactions.

Edison Partners: Shelby McKeown, Felix Rauch, Nonnie Egbuna and Hannah Kenney

Edison Partners, a growth equity firm, announced four promotions this month. Shelby McKeown and Felix Rauch were both promoted to senior associate. McKeown supports investment origination and execution across financial technology and vertical SaaS, while Rauch supports sourcing, evaluating and executing investments within healthcare IT and vertical SaaS. Egbuna has been promoted to director of Marketing & Value Creation, leading content strategy, development and operations for Edison’s value creation platform Edison Edge. Lastly, Kenney has been promoted to marketing manager to support digital content, event programming and podcast development. All four professionals joined the firm in 2023, according to a press release.

Tyler Kotiza
Prairie: Tyler Kotiza

Tyler Kotiza has been named as the newest addition to corporate advisory and investment banking firm Prairie Capital Advisors, according to a press release this month. Kotiza joins the firm as director within its Investment Banking group, bringing more than 15 years of experience across corporate finance, strategic consulting and commercial banking. He specializes in sell- and buy-side M&A advisory, capital raising and business development for lower middle-market businesses. Kotiza most recently served as a managing director at Warson Capital Partners.

Alvarez & Marsal: Damian Peluso

Alvarez & Marsal, a global professional services firm, has announced the appointment of Damian Peluso as a managing director in its Global Transaction Advisory Group (Global TAG) in Toronto. The new hire strengthens A&M’s Global TAG offerings in Canada, which first launched in January 2023, the firm noted. Peluso has more than two decades of experience guiding public and private businesses through complex M&A transactions, due diligence, strategic growth and sales. He has supported transactions across the automotive, manufacturing, healthcare and food services sectors, among others.

B. Riley: Eric Dobi

Middle-market investment bank B. Riley Securities announced the hiring of Eric Dobi as a senior managing director in its Real Estate Investment Banking group, according to a recent press release. B. Riley described Dobi as a 25-year veteran of real estate investment banking. He advises public REITs, private real estate owners and capital providers on M&A, portfolio transactions and complex financing. Before joining B. Riley, Dobi led real estate investment banking initiatives at Wedbush Securities.
