On the Move: January 2025 Hires and Promotions
Private equity firms, investment banks and law firms announced new hires and promotions this month
Stellex Capital Management: Jennifer Colvin and Scott Kingsley
Jennifer Colvin and Scott Kingsley, both ACG members, have joined the team at Stellex Capital Management, a middle-market private equity firm. Colvin joins the firm as a Director and will be based in Washington D.C. She joins from Perkins Cole, where she most recently served as a business development director. Kingsley joins the firm from Highview Capital, a middle-market private equity fund, where he served as a Vice President of the business development team. He will be based in Boston.
Odyssey Investment Partners: Jonathan Hall and Vivian Hadis
Odyssey Investment Partners, a private equity investment firm focused on the middle market, announced the promotions of Jonathan Hall and Vivian Hadis to Managing Principals. Hall is on the Board of Directors for two portfolio companies, while Hadis is the firm’s General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. Odyssey also announced the promotions of nine additional team members.
Marathon Capital: Ari Pribadi and David Kirkpatrick
Ari Pribadi and David Kirkpatrick have been promoted to Global Co-Heads of Investment Banking at investment banking firm Marathon Capital, which focuses on the clean economy, according to a recent press release.
Marathon announced a slew of other promotions as well, including Ammad Faisal, who has been appointed Head of its New York City office. He will lead the firm’s Financial Sponsor coverage initiatives as well as its Capital Markets business.
Jen Zhao has been promoted as Chief Operating Officer—Investment Banking, while Chris Shaw has been promoted as Head of EMEA to drive Marathon’s expansion across borders in addition to his current work running U.K. and EU operations.
Alvarez & Marsal: Stacy Kirshner
Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal has announced that its Global Transaction Advisory Group promoted Stacy Kirshner from Managing Director to Co-Leader of the Transaction Advisory Group’s U.S. operations. Kirshner has been with the Global Transaction Advisory Group for more than a decade, and jointed the firm’s U.S. Executive Committee in 2022. The promotion was announced in conjunction with the appointment of Managing Director Frederic Steiner to Country Co-Leader of A&M France, a press release said.
Transom Capital: Conor Davenport, Steve Kim and Mads Jorge
Middle-market private equity firm Transom Capital has promoted two team members to the role of managing director. Conor Davenport and Steve Kim were both promoted on the Mergers & Acquisitions Team. The promotions follow the close of Transom’s fourth oversubscribed fund in October; last year, the firm added seven professionals to the team, according to an announcement.
Separately, Transom also announced this month the hiring of Mads Jorge, who joins as Managing Director and a senior member of the firm’s Investment Team. Transom’s announcement about the hiring pointed to Jorge’s expertise in fundamental investing and relationship building within the public and private markets. He will help Transom source new investment opportunities.
Berkshire Partners: Jonas Nilsson
Berkshire Partners, a private and public equity investor, announced the hiring of Jonas Nilsson who is joining the firm as Managing Director, Head of Investor Relations. He joins from Cinven, where he led the firm’s fundraising efforts as a partner. At Berkshire, Nilsson will lead investor relations and private equity investor partnerships, as well as lead investor relations for the firm’s public equity business Stockbridge.
Kainos Capital: Claire Bissot
Private equity firm Kainos Capital, which targets the food and consumer sectors, announced the promotion of Claire Bissot to Managing Director. She leads the firm’s Human Resources and Talent initiatives on its Operations Team, according to a press release, and partners with portfolio companies to support their human capital functions, among other objectives. Her experience spans strategic planning, M&A, compliance, employee relations, operational optimization and leadership development.
Braemont Capital: Wali Bacdayan
Investment firm Braemont Capital has announced the hiring of Wali Bacdayan, who joins the firm as a Partner. In his role Bacdayan will source and execute investment opportunities. He brings a network of founders and family officers to the firm that will support Braemont’s value creation strategy development. His experience spans positions as founder, private family office investor, entrepreneur and active board member. He is a co-founder of Incline Equity Partners and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Washington & Lee University, a press release noted.
Harvest Partners: Shane McHugh and Claire Simon
Harvest Partners, a middle-market private equity firm, announced the promotions of Shane McHugh and Claire Simon to Vice President. McHugh joined the firm in 2021 and is a member of the firm’s Private Equity investment team. Simon also joined in 2021 and is a member of the firm’s investor relations team.
William Blair: Terence Tan
Terence Tan has joined investment bank William Blair as a managing director in the firm’s Healthcare Investment Banking team. Tan is based in New York and provides biopharma companies with advisory services. He has more than 19 years of experience in biopharma investment banking, having served companies across all stages of development, an announcement said. He was previously at Cantor Firzgerald, where he served as a managing director and advised biopharma companies on debt and equity raises, private placements and mergers & acquisitions. He has worked closely with venture capital firms, hedge funds and mutual funds to come up with creative financing solutions. Tan also held investment banking roles with Jefferies and UBS.
Baird: Rodd Langenhagen
Global investment bank Baird added Rodd Langenhagen as a managing director in the firm’s with the Technology & Services Group, an announcement said. Before Baird, he worked as a managing director and head of software globally at investment bank Greenhill & Co. He has also held a similar role at Pacific Crest Securities prior to Greenhill. Langenhagen earned an MBA from Stanford University and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and operations research from Princeton University.
Womble Bond Dickinson: Matthew Morgan
Matthew Morgan has joined law firm Womble Bond Dickinson as of counsel in the firm’s Charleston office, the firm announced this month. He is part of the Finance, Bankruptcy and Restructuring practice. Morgan has over two decades of experience working at top American law firms, as well as buy-side and sell-side financial institutions in London. He previously worked on sophisticated lending transactions, including subordinated, mezzanine and senior financings backed by traditional and non-traditional security packages. Most recently, Morgan was a partner in the Charleston office of Moore & Van Allen. Prior to that, he was a member of the special situations group at a European investment bank with a direct lending and investment mandate complementing its credit trading business.
