Amit Bouri of the GIIN on Impact Investing’s Growing Appeal
The co-founder and CEO of the Global Impact Investing Network discusses the increasing interest among investors, including middle-market private equity, in impact investing.
This episode of the Middle Market Growth Conversations podcast features Amit Bouri, co-founder and CEO of the Global Impact Investing Network, an organization that aims to rethink the role of private capital.
Bouri spoke with MMG Editor-in-Chief Deborah Cohen about the increasing interest among investors, including private equity firms, in achieving positive social and environmental impact alongside a financial return in sectors as wide-ranging as sustainable agriculture, community investing, affordable housing, renewable energy, education, health care and more.
Bain Capital’s double-impact fund is among the better known vehicles to enter this space, and Bouri expects the trend to continue as investors increasingly appreciate how impact investing can be integrated across an entire portfolio.
Bouri and Cohen spoke on Jan. 31 on-site at the Accelerating U.S. Community Impact Investing conference, which GIIN helped produce in partnership with the National Community Investment Fund and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
