Barnes & Thornburg: Elizabeth Davis and Princess Fuller

Law firm Barnes & Thornburg has expanded its Corporate Department with the additions of Elizabeth Davis and Princess Fuller as its newest partners, it said this month. Davis specializes in M&A, corporate governance, and general business counseling across a range of industries. She joins the firm’s Chicago office. Fuller, meanwhile, will be joining Barnes & Thornburg’s Atlanta office. Her practice focuses on M&A and private equity transactions, as well as advising on energy and infrastructure matters. She joins the firm from McDermott Will & Schulte.

VSS Capital Partners: Brad Corbin, et al.

Private investment firm VSS Capital Partners, which specializes in healthcare, education, and business services, announced several new promotions this month. The firm promoted Brad Corbin to managing director, Aditya Govil and Sai Parepally to principals, Jon-Michael Beckelman to vice president, Jack Lewin to senior associate, and Dan Miyoshi to assistant controller. In a statement provided to ACG, VSS Managing Partner Jeffrey Stevenson said the promotions “recognize the many contributions and steadfast commitment to excellence” that the professionals have demonstrated.

Winston & Strawn: Shan Haider

Winston & Strawn Structured Finance Partner Shan Haider has joined the firm’s Transactions Department in New York, according to a press release. Haider, an ACG member, advises institutional capital providers in deploying capital through a variety of investment vehicles in highly regulated markets. His experience includes representing asset managers, specialty finance companies, private funds, and loan originators.

Hogan Lovells: Bryan Lowrance

Global law firm Hogan Lovells expanded its Boston office this month with the hiring of Bryan Lowrance, who joins the firm as a partner in its M&A practice area. Lowrance joined the firm from Ropes & Gray, according to a press release. His experience spans mergers, stock purchases, asset purchases, carve-out and spin-off transactions, as well as buy- and sell-side private and public M&A.

Star Mountain Capital: George Zahringer

Star Mountain Capital, an employee-owned investment firm, has announced George Zahringer joined its portfolio optimization team as strategic portfolio partner. Zahringer brings more than 20 years of experience in operational private equity and private credit investing. At Star Mountain, he will collaborate closely with investment teams to support value creation across its portfolio. Most recently, Zahringer served as cofounder and principal of AZ Private Ventures, a lower middle-market private equity firm.

FBT Gibbons: Leon Yel

FBT Gibbons has announced Leon A. Yel as its newest partner within the law firm’s Commercial Finance practice group. Yel will be based at its New York office to support its commercial finance capabilities across the Northeast. With a focus on corporate law and lending, Yel joins from Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf. He specializes in specialty lending, lender finance, leveraged lending, syndicated financings, asset-based loans, and more. His career includes experience representing lenders, private equity sponsors, and others in lending and M&A transactions.

Vintage Stone Capital: Kevin K. Albert

Kevin K. Albert has joined Vintage Stone Capital, a private equity firm focused on the industrials and manufacturing sectors. Albert is the former global head of the Merrill Lynch Private Equity Placement Group. He joins Vintage Stone as senior partner and head of capital markets, a role in which he will direct the firm’s institutional capital strategy to accelerate its acquisitions of lower middle-market companies.

KeyBank: Ryan Dixon, et al.

KeyBank has launched its Middle Market Commercial Banking team in Atlanta, hiring five people to lead the initiative. Ryan Dixon has been named commercial leader and will lead the Middle Market team. He joined KeyBank from Fifth Third, where he served as Commercial Line of Business manager. In addition to Dixon, KeyBank named David Crowe and Bradley Sands as senior relationship managers, Kevin Zgonc as senior payments advisor, and Todd Sanders as portfolio manager. The Middle Market Commercial Banking team will provide capital markets access, treasury expertise, and M&A advisory, an announcement said.

Alvarez & Marsal: Maisam Raza

In support of the launch of its Alternative Investment Services practice, global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has tapped Senior Director Maisam Raza. He will lead the AIS practice out of Toronto and strengthen the firm’s Global Valuation Services capabilities in the Canadian market. In the role, Raza will support pension funds and alternative asset managers, an announcement noted.
