On the Move: November 2023 Hires and Promotions
New hires and promotions across private equity, legal services, consulting and other M&A partners
ZCG Consulting: Jon Davies
ZAG Consulting, ZAG’s business consulting platform servicing middle-market businesses and their private equity sponsors, announced Jon Davis has been appointed head of talent. In the new position Davis will lead executive search, strategic talent planning, management team assessment and human capital project management, focusing on value creation through talent acquisition initiatives. He joins the firm from Lightyear Capital, where he served as managing director and head of talent.
ArcLight Capital Partners: Andrew L. Ott
Middle-market investment firm ArcLight Capital Partners, which focuses on the infrastructure space, announced the appointment of Andrew L. Ott as its newest senior advisor. Ott is the former president and CEO of PJM Interconnection. At ArcLight, he’ll source new investment opportunities across the power, energy transition and infrastructure markets. In a statement, ArcLight managing partner Dan Revers described Ott as “a leading expert in wholesale electricity market design, power system operations and navigating the ongoing energy transition.”
Wynnchurch Capital: Brett Burns
Brett Burns has joined middle-market private equity firm Wynnchurch Capital as an associate on the investment team, according to a press release this month. He joins the firm from Houlihan Lokey where he served as an analyst at the firm’s industrials group. In addition to Burns’ hiring, Wynnchurch also announced several finance and administrative hires, including Yuri Douglas, Moe Alsabah, Justin Musialowicz, Colleen Arnold, and Jessica Exposito.
Heritage Global Valuations: Gina Griffin
Heritage Global Valuations, an appraisal and liquidation firm that’s part of Heritage Global, announced the appointment of Gina Griffin as its newest senior vice president. Griffin holds more than 20 years of experience in valuation, with particular expertise in retail, consumer products and e-commerce, as well as in providing insights into loan pricing and structure for asset-based and middle-market lending. She has been serving as a valuation consultant for HGV since 2021.
BayPine: Cory A. Eaves and Jason Currier
Private investment firm BayPine announced the addition of two senior operating hires this month. Corey A. Eaves is joining the firm as partner and head of Portfolio Operations, a position that will see Eaves support BayPine’s digital transformation and portfolio operations team to drive digital transformation within portfolio companies. Separately, Jason Currier is joining BayPine as partner and Chief Financial Officer.
“We are thrilled to welcome Cory and Jason to BayPine as we continue to build a best-in-class investment organization supported by robust operating infrastructure,” stated the firm’s managing partners Anjan Mukherjee and David Roux, who described Eaves as a “hands-on, technology-fluent executive” and Currier as “a veteran finance professional.”
Massumi + Consoli: Nathan Sawyer
Boutique law firm Massumi + Consoli announced this month the hiring of Nathan Sawyer as a partner in its New York office. Massumi + Consoli specialize in private equity transactional and advisory services. The addition of Sawyer will further build out the firm’s Growth Equity and M&A practices. At the firm, Sawyer will work with financial sponsors and other strategic investors to support control and structured minority investments. Peter Massumi, co-founder of Massumi + Consoli, said Sawyer’s hiring “further reinforces our position as a national leader in the middle-market private equity space.”
Nuveen Private Capital: Jamal Hammoud
Churchill Asset Management, the U.S. operating company of Nuveen Private Capital, and Arcmont Asset Management, Nuveen’s European operating company, announced the appointment of Jamal Hammoud as managing director and senior investment strategist. Hammoud will support the expansion of Nuveen Private Capital’s operations and fundraising initiatives in the Middle East. Nuveen was formed earlier this year following the acquisition of Arcmont. Hammoud will be based in Churchill’s New York City office and will collaborate with colleagues across Nuveen, Churchill and Arcmont to address growing demand for private credit in the Middle East.
Star Mountain Capital: Gregory Summe
Employee-owned specialist investment firm Star Mountain Capital has hired Gregory Summe as its new senior advisor, according to a press release this month. Summe brings more than 30 years of experience as an investor, operator and C-level executive, and has completed more than 200 private equity investments as an investment committee member. He joins the firm from The Carlyle Group. In a statement, Star Mountain Capital founder and CEO Brett Hickey said Summe holds “tremendous industry, operating and investment insights that we believe will be additive to our portfolio companies, investors and team.”
Alvarez & Marsal: Brooke Hopkins
Alvarez & Marsal, a global professional services firm providing advisory and turnaround management services, has hired Brooke Hopkins as managing director in its Disputes and Investigations practice. Hopkins specializes in global and internal investigations, compliance monitorships, ESG compliance and more. She brings more than 25 years of financial advisory and strategic consulting experience to the firm. Hopkins joins the firm from AlixPartners, where she served as partner and managing director overseeing global and domestic ESG and compliance for multinational companies.
